    What's the best CNC?

What's the best CNC? Not an easy question. It really depends on your needs. You are going to have ask yourself what you want to accomplish with your CNC. For most of us. We're hobbyist and want to create artistic signs and 3D work. This can be done with a vast majority of the hobbyist market machines and your really only limited by the size of your machine. Even so you can always tile as well, so for me it really comes down to how easy can I make this. I really want my machine to be efficient as possible. Turn and burn, popping out carvings as fast as possible with the least effort from me as
  4. bought a makita and a dewalt router today. bought the dewalt to use for day to day and the makita for the cnc since it has more range of rpm. it will go down alot lower than the dewalt. i really like the raise and lower on the dewalt versus the makita as well. seems like it all worked out except the cnc came with a bracket for the dewalt so had to order one for the makita but was able to snag the last one on amazon that was prime so it will be here on sunday. all the other ones seemed like they were the same ones that shipped from china on ebay and had a 3 week lead time. excited to upgrade th
  5. learnt a few lessons today on gluing up and using my new table saw but excited for the next one using some quality wood. I used some laminted spruce to make this. Don't intend to use it but figured i would use this board as a pracrice run. didnt come out that bad but not gonna show off to my friends yet.
  6. Practicing inlays with epoxy. only took me 3 different times to get this right but still flawed. learning alot though.
  7. used an engraving bit 30 degree. 3x2.3 not too bad but defiantly not great. Still excited the way it ultimatly came out. I might try it again when i get my ball nose bits and try it on a larger piece of wood to see if i get more detail in the face. Just gotta remember this is a learning curve and i will get the hang of it sooner or later.
